Four Months and Counting in America

On June 22, 2011 at noon, Dom Daniel Nash became Pastor of St. Patrick, Dom Elias Carr became Pastor at St. Rocco, and Dom Bruno Semple became Parochial Vicar at St. Patrick. In a little over four months, the newly erected Canonry of Saint Leopold has begun to take shape. The faithful have responded positively to the presence of Canons and to this new form of priestly common life.

Thank you for all your prayerful support! Enjoy these photos from this opening phase.

Following the Mass, the statue and relic of Saint Rocco are brought out of the church in order to visit the homebound of the parish on July 31, 2011.

The procession passes through the feast booths before weaving through the neighborhood.

The relic is borne solemnly to allow the homebound faithful to venerate Saint Rocco and to ask for his intercession.

The procession took over two hours in the deep summer sun of late July.

The procession returned to the church, where much good eating and drinking awaited.

Dom Bruno delivers his homily at the Anniversary Mass for Abbot-Primate Gebhard Koberger on August, 16, 2011. This annual commemoration of the most recently deceased provost is an old custom of Klosterneuburg.

Still moving into the Canonry...

A gift from the Provost to the Canonry, this statue of St. Leopold stands just inside the main entrance.

Many faithful from Glen Cove and beyond assisted at the Solemn High Mass. In accordance with the wishes of the Holy Father, we strive to make available both Forms of the Sacred Liturgy.
